ELEVATORS AND CONSTRUCTION Mold and bacterial growth is a problem in many elevator shafts and it is often a very complicated task to get the mold eliminated. On i.a. hospitals and food companies, an elevator shaft infected with bacteria or mold can be the source of several of the floors in the building becoming infected with mold or bacteria, because they are "blown" around and out into the building when the elevator is used.
